The Godfather has recently commented that The Undertaker told him Vince McMahon holds a special place in his heart for the WWE Hall Of Famer.

Starting his time with WWE in the early 90’s, the real-life Charles Wright went through a number of characters during his time. Starting out as Papa Shango, he was involved in a storyline with The Ultimate Warrior after interfering in the WrestleMania 8 main event between Hulk Hogan and Sid. Whilst the character is well remembered, he didn’t stay with the company long and then returned to USWA.

Wright returned to the company in 1995 as Kama ‘The Supreme Fighting Machine’ and became a member of Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Corporation. Perhaps the most memorable moment for this character came when he stole The Undertaker’s urn, and melted it down to make a gold chain.

Next came Kama Mustafa, as a member of The Nation Of Domination. It was during this time that he started to become known as ‘The Godfather’ of the Nation, a name which would end up sticking well after the stable disbanded.

The Godfather would go on to become one of the most popular stars of the Attitude Era, with Wright being accompanied to the ring for each match by a number of glamorous women. He was also a member of the fabled Bone Street Krew along with the likes of The Undertaker, Savio Vega, Henry Godwin, Yokozuna and Rikishi.

Speaking on the Midnight Hustle Podcast, Wright has stated that The Undertaker spoke to him recently about what Vince McMahon feels about him.

Taker actually said, I swear he said this a couple of days ago, he goes, ‘Vince has got a special place in his heart for you. Vince likes real people, and you’re a real dude. Vince sees that and he really appreciates real people.

The Godfather was inducted in to the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2016, and has also been featured on an episode of Steve Austin’s Stone Cold Sessions.
