Ronda Rousey, the former WWE RAW Women’s Champion, has announced the birth of her first child with UFC fighter Travis Browne on Instagram.
Rousey took to her Instagram account to share a private snapshot of herself affectionately holding the baby inside her t-shirt, along with a caption that revealed the name “La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo Browne” and a heart emoji. The baby’s hand is seen on her father’s chest in a second snap.
The 34-year-old confirmed her pregnancy in April, and the couple revealed the baby’s gender as female during a Pokemon-themed gender reveal in June.
Ronda Rousey hasn’t been seen in WWE in a long time, despite Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon earlier stating that the former RAW Women’s Champion would return. However, her pregnancy clearly delayed any such homecoming if it was intended for any time soon.
Ronda Rousey In WWE
Rousey had the best debut year in WWE history, debuting alongside Kurt Angle in a Mixed Tag Team Match against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania.
Rousey’s remarkable year, which included being undefeated and winning the RAW Women’s Championship, was bookended by her being one of three women to claim a spot in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event, which included the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships on the line.
Rousey’s first loss in WWE came in a controversial fashion, when she was pinned by Becky Lynch, and she then walked away from the ring. The former UFC fighter claimed at the time that she was taking time off because she and Browne were attempting to start a family.
The staff at Hooked On Wrestling congratulates Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne on the birth of their new-born baby, and we wish them all the best for the future.
