After allegations made during the latest Dark Side Of The Ring documentary, the commercial for Car Shield featuring Ric Flair has seemingly been paused from airing.

The episode of the documentary, talking about “the plane ride from hell”, included one of the air hostesses on the flight discussing sexual assault claims against ‘The Nature Boy’.

Having run Insurrextion from London in May 2002, the plane ride in discussion took place when the touring team headed back to the United States. Several incidents took place on the flight which resulted in fines, suspensions and, for Curt Hennig and Scott Hall, firings.

In a new report from Pro Wrestling Insider, Intermedia who are the advertising agency in charge of the commercial have confirmed that the campaign is currently paused.

We take these matters very seriously. As of right now, we are pausing the campaign and we will do our due diligence.

Flair is not the only person to receive backlash from the episode, with IMPACT Wrestling reportedly putting Tommy Dreamer on indefinite suspension after comments he made on the show.

Maria Kanellis has spoken today of her desire for WWE to change following the revelations in the documentary. Kanellis has spoken on social media of how she, among others, were afraid during their time in WWE, and that actions like this were part of the culture at the time.

Kanellis went on to explain that the talent she was around were the best part of her most recent WWE run, but also said that it’s the office which needed to change.
