Peacock Reaches Huge Milestone, And Confirms A UK Launch On Sky

WWE On Peacock

NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock will be making its UK debut on Sky later this year, it’s been announced today.

The streaming service is just over a year old but has already reached 54 million signups and 20 million monthly active accounts as of this week, according to an update from Comcast.

Peacock took over the WWE Network in the U.S.A. in March of this year and is now planning to roll out the availability worldwide, starting with Europe. It will be available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland at no extra cost as part of Sky Q, NOW and Sky Ticket subscriptions. Dana Strong, Group Chief Executive Officer of Sky, had the following to say:

Peacock will be a great addition for Sky customers with over 7,000 hours of content at no additional cost. This exceptional value add is another example of the great ways we are innovating to bring more benefits to our customers from the synergies across Sky, NBCUniversal, and Comcast Cable.

It’s yet to be announced as to the fate of the WWE Network in the U.K, whether it stays as a stand alone service for those that don’t have Sky or NOW T.V. or whether it’s integrated into Peacock itself.

Either way, we’ll be signing up because as part of the entertainment membership they show Young Rock!

As soon as we get more details, we’ll let you know.
