It was one of the most shocking and unexpected jumps in recent memory when Paul Wight joined AEW.
He became All Elite seemingly not just to commentate on AEW Dark: Elevation, but to also compete at some point.
Wight has now suggested that there’s a specific WWE Hall Of Famer he would like to join him under the Tony Khan Banner.
Speaking on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Wight has commented about why he would like Mark Henry to join him.
Honestly, there’s one guy I miss all the time, and I don’t know if he’s gonna wrestle again. It’s Mark Henry. I love him. He does [still got it]. Mark would be amazing here because he’s got an eye for finding talent. That’s a thing about Mark that a lot of people don’t know because of the way his character’s done on TV, there’s so much depth to him.
He’s a lot smarter than people know. He knows everyone under the sun. He’s a got a rolodex full of athletes that he’s helped get better, train better, become wrestlers, get into colleges they want to go to, get tryouts for pro teams that they want to go to. He’s unbelievable. His heart is so big the way he gives to athletes and helps athletes. For me personally, I’d love Mark here.
Although this credits Henry for the backstage prowess he could bring, it certainly wouldn’t rule out ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ making a return to the squared circle, something we certainly wouldn’t be adverse to!
