It was reported yesterday that the Smackdown tapings for that day had to be cancelled due to a positive Covid-19 test amongst the talent.
Now it seems this has meant a bigger shuffle than some expected, with NXT airing live tonight rather than taped as originally planned.
Today’s tapings have started, according to John Pollock of POST Wrestling, with 205 Live, Main Event and next week’s Raw to be taped this afternoon.
NXT is then set to air live, with the following week’s edition being recorded straight after.
Possibly the biggest part of this news is that the Smackdown taping for 26th June – which was set to take place today – has been cancelled as the company await results of their Covid-19 tests.
It is being reported that it won’t be planned for this week, but instead recorded on the day that the show is due to air. This week’s episode has already been recorded.
This would make sense, with WWE having everything else in the can giving them time to get the entire roster cleared before their next tapings.
