John Cena this weekend solidified his position as one of wrestling’s all time greatest humans as he paid a surprise visit to a Florida based child suffering from a life-threatening Wilms tumour.
As reported by WFLA, Cena dropped in on Odessa, Florida based David Castle, 7, laden with a stack of presents including WWE Championship belts, signed t-shirts and of course, a pair of his signature armbands.
Granting Make-A-Wish wishes is nothing new for Cena as he holds the record for most meetings in the history of the organisation that has long had an affiliation with WWE. Special credit must go to Cena for fulfilling this particular wish in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The images of Cena wearing a mask and gloves make an already heartwarming story that much more poignant.
WWE fan Castle was reportedly diagnosed with the aggressive condition in October 2019 and his mother, Tammy Miller told how the visit brought her young son to tears of joy as he met his favourite superstar.
Our love and best wishes go out to David and all his family as he fights this disease. The family have set up a GoFundMe page to help with ongoing medical expenses.
