Gable Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist at the recent Tokyo Games has been shockingly drafted to Monday Night Raw.
Olympic gold medalist Steveson finally signed with WWE on September 9th in the company’s first NIL deal. Despite signing with WWE, Steveson will continue to wrestle for the University of Minnesota to defend his NCAA Division One championship.
Steveson rose to prominence as one of the world’s most sought-after combat athletes after winning Olympic gold in Tokyo. Steveson’s resume drew a slew of suitors, despite the fact that he was already an NCAA Champion, Danny Hodge Trophy winner, and Junior World Champion.
While it is unknown when Steveson will make his WWE debut, the star has been drafted directly to Raw. This is regardless of the fact that he has yet to make his professional wrestling debut. Gable Steveson was selected as the red brand’s final pick on night two of the 2021 WWE Draft.
Intriguingly, Steveson appeared to predict his rapid rise in an interview he gave shortly after signing with the company.
“There is, I think, there is a very big chance I might go straight to the main roster and not go to NXT,” revels Steveson. “I was open to anything, but with the way things are going, I think I’m going to jump straight to the main roster. And I know there’s a lot to learn and I’m ready to soak everything in like a sponge and just be ready to go out and put a good show on for the crowd.”
