With less than seven weeks to go until WrestleMania, we now have our first match confirmed for the biggest WWE event of the year.

To nobody’s surprise, it was confirmed at last night’s Elimination Chamber PPV that Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Royal Rumble winner, Edge.

The confirmation came about after Reigns had defended his belt against Daniel Bryan, himself fresh off a gruelling win in the Elimination Chamber match that opened the PPV.

After Reigns dispatched Bryan in under two minutes by KO, Edge cut short the champion’s celebrations with an out of nowhere spear. His challenge was confirmed with the now customary WrestleMania sign point as fireworks burst out around the ThunderDome.

WrestleMania will take place this year from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida with fans expected to finally return to a WWE event in significant numbers for the first time in over a year.
