Despite only recently being released by WWE, it has been confirmed that Mercedes Martinez will challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship in October.
The match will take place at a WrestlePro event in Rahway, New Jersey on October 16, and is Martinez first confirmed booking since her recent WWE release.
Martinez made her first foray in to the world of WWE by competing in the two editions of the Mae Young Classic, making it to the semi-final against Shayna Baszler in the inaugural tournament and then bowing out to current NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura in the second round the next time.
A brief appearance in AEW followed for the Casino Battle Royale at All Out 2019, before she became a permanent fixture in WWE the following year.
One of her most notable contests in WWE was a match against Rhea Ripley inside a steel cage.
Meanwhile, Deonna Purrazzo has gone around the wrestling world defending the IMPACT Knockouts Championship, most recently being successful against Thunder Rosa at Slammiversary.

- Tony Nese vs. Bobby Wayward
- Dirty Dango (fka Fandango) vs. Brian Myers
