Darby Allin “Doesn’t Give A Shit” About AEW World Title

Darby Allin

Darby Allin, one of the four pillars of AEW has surprisingly stated that he would prefer to reclaim the TNT Championship rather than become AEW World Champion.

Darby Allin signed with AEW in April 2019 and made his ring debut at Fyter Fest in June, wrestling Cody Rhodes to a time-limit draw. Allin quickly rose through the ranks, eventually winning the TNT Championship at Full Gear in November 2020, defeating Rhodes for the belt.

Before being defeated by Miro on AEW Dynamite in May, the high-flyer successfully defended his prized championship an incredible eight times.

Many fans expected Allin to continue his rise through the AEW ranks and eventually challenge for the AEW World Championship after his defeat. However, the man himself has now revealed that he has no desire to compete for the company’s top title, preferring to reclaim his TNT title.

Allin stated at New York Comic Con that while he had the most fun during his match with Miro, he wants another run with the title now that fans are back in the stands:

“Out of all of those matches, I can say it was probably the one I lost to Miro. It was lots of fun, but it was during the pandemic, I was having the best matches of my career and long story short, I’d like to run that shit back in front of a live crowd.

We’ll continue to show everybody why that championship is the most important championship in AEW. Everyone is like, “I can’t wait until you become World Heavyweight Champion.’ I don’t give a sh*t about that. Give me that TNT Championship.”

Darby Allin has only lost one singles match since losing the TNT Championship. At All Out, he was pinned by the returning CM Punk in front of Punk’s hometown Chicago crowd.

On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin defeated Nick Comoroto of The Factory.
