Cesaro has named who he considers to be this generation’s ‘Mr WrestleMania’, claiming that Seth Rollins’ matches at The Showcase Of The Immortals’ puts him at the top of the tree.

Shawn Michaels has long held the moniker of ‘Mr WrestleMania’, and it’s a plaudit well deserved. His credentials include the legendary ladder match against Razor Ramon in Madison Square Garden at WrestleMania X, his title defence against ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin two years later which helped define an era, and his battles with The Undertaker.

‘The Swiss Cyborg’ spoke with the Out Of Character podcast and said that he feels Rollins may already have the matches in the bank to overtake ‘The Heartbreak Kid’.

It felt right, to be in the ring with Seth, you know, who I shared the road with, who is I think I said it in the 24 as well, I think he is Mr. WrestleMania. All the stuff he’s achieved at WrestleMania that’s second to none. I think nobody can claim that.

The matches that he puts on every WrestleMania and SummerSlam as well, every time he gets in the ring, I think we are similar in that mindset, we always try to outdo each other. Obviously when we’re in different matches on the same show as well, but even when we’re in the same one, we try to get the best result possible. And I think we did that at WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins faced Cesaro at The Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania 37, in what many considered to be a show-stealing performance. The year before Rollins faced Kevin Owens inside the Performance Center and still gave it their all, whilst in 2019 at The MetLife Stadium Rollins slayed ‘The Beast Incarnate’ when he defeated Brock Lesnar in the opening match of the card to win the WWE Universal Championship.

On top of that, going back the next couple of years Rollins won the Intercontinental Championship in a triple-threat match against Finn Balor and The Miz at WrestleMania 34, as well as then picking up the win over Triple H at WrestleMania 33.

What many will see as Rollins’ WrestleMania moment is when he cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase during the main event at Levi’s Stadium for WrestleMania in 2015. Rollins interjected himself in the match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to complete “the heist of the century” and win the WWE Championship.
