Adam Scherr, formerly known as WWE’s Braun Strowman, has called out a former WWE Superstar he has a close connection with as the man he wants to challenge him next.
Scherr competed for the first time since being released from WWE on October 1st at “Free The Narrative II: The Monster In Us All’. He faced another former WWE Superstar in EC3 and emerged victorious from the bout.
Scherr made an appearance on ‘Control Your Narrative‘, where he was asked who he would like his next opponent to be. The former WWE Universal Champion was quick to say there was only one man he wants to see “knocking on that door”, the patriarch of the Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, whose real name is Windham Rotunda.
“I don’t know if it’s really one person. I think it’s anyone, anyone that has something inside them that they need to get out. Anybody that needs to be set free. These things have always been good [stares at his hands] at setting things free… There’s only one man on this earth that I want to see knocking that door. He’s family, he showed me things in life that I never could have imagined seeing. He bestowed the gift upon me of being the godfather to his son. Windham, I’m waiting for you brother.”
Scherr was a member of the Wyatt family from his debut on WWE’s main roster in August 2015 up until he was split from the faction in the 2016 WWE Draft. Over the following years, Scherr continued to rise up the ranks in WWE and captured the vacant Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 by defeating Goldberg. He soon entered a feud with Wyatt over the title, eventually losing it to his former leader, who by then had transformed into the demonic ‘Fiend’ character, at that year’s SummerSlam in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
In a move that surprised many in WWE, Adam Scherr was released from the company on June 2nd, 2021. The departure of Bray Wyatt followed soon after on July 31st. Since their respective releases, both men have been rumoured to be heading to IMPACT Wrestling.
