When Braun Strowman first appeared on WWE television, the character he portrayed was far different from ‘The Monster Among Men’ we grew accustomed to, and Vince McMahon was confused by it.
A former WWE Universal Champion, Strowman was mostly seen destroying his surroundings, such as sets and vehicles, as well as his opponents during his time with the company.
His official named introduction to the WWE audience was when he became a member of The Wyatt Family alongside Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Eric Rowan.
However, it turns out that one of the first times he was properly spotted by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was when he came to the ring alongside Adam Rose as a member of ‘The Rosebuds’. Strowman spoke on the Highspots Wrestling Network’s Virtual Gimmick Table Show about how McMahon had seen the gimmick and was confused as to why he was part of it.
I was a Rosebud. That’s what got me seen. Vince [McMahon] himself saw me doing the Rosebud gimmick, he goes, ‘Why is this guy doing this?
Braun Strowman was released by WWE in June 2021, and is now going by his real name Adam Scherr. He went on to discuss how he is using the time since his release to assess all his options and interests, but does have a desire to get back in the ring.
It’s kind of cool to have the opportunity just to do stuff. I was very fortunate in my time with WWE but it was very, very time-consuming. I didn’t have a lot of time to do other things so now during my downtime when I’m trying to figure out what I wanna do when I grow up, I get an opportunity to go out and, you know, explore different avenues, try different things and I’m enjoying it. I definitely miss being in the squared circle though. I promise you that.
