Booker T has commented that he feels current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa would be lost in the shuffle if he were to be moved another WWE brand.
The former WWE and WCW Champion was talking on his Hall Of Fame podcast about how he feels Ciampa is in exactly the right place, and as NXT Champion he can help mentor the up-and-coming talent in NXT 2.0.
Tommaso Ciampa, I think if he came to the main roster, he’d get lost in the shuffle. In NXT, he’s going to be playing at a high level, he’s going to play a big role there, he’s great for those younger guys coming up that he can actually help, hopefully, mentor and guide to what is going to take for you guys to go to the next level.
If that’s talking bad about somebody, I wished somebody talked about me like that sometimes. A guy like Tommaso Ciampa, he’s perfect for NXT – and people can take that and look at it however they want. There, again, if someone was calling me ‘perfect’, I’d take it any day of the week.
Ciampa won the NXT Championship for the second time on the first edition of the revamped NXT on 14th September, when he won a four-way match which also featured Von Wagner, Pete Dunne and LA Knight. The match was originally set to be for the number one contendership, but was made for the belt when Samoa Joe was forced to relinquish the title just days before.
On the most recent edition of NXT 2.0, the team of Ciampa and Bronson Breakker were successful in a main-event match against Dunne and Ridge Holland.
The comments from Booker T back up Ciampa’s own opinion, after stating in a recent interview that he would rather retire than go to Raw or SmackDown.
