AEW have announced that on the 30th of December and 6th of January, we will be getting a two-week “New Year’s Smash” event on Dynamite.

The announcement came via AEW’s twitter page:

While AEW claim not to believe in “counter-programming” NXT deliberately, this announcement does come after NXT announced their own “New Year’s Evil” event on January 6th.

AEW, however, have also announced that none other than the ‘D-O-double-G’ Snoop Dogg will be making an appearance on Night 2 of New Year’s Smash Jan 6th.

There are more guests to be announced for both nights of the event and Chris Jericho will also be joining the commentary team for Night 1.

Perhaps some more of Cody Rhodes’ co-hosts of Go Big Show? I would personally love to see Bert Kreischer on AEW.

Also worth noting from the announcement tweet that the 23rd of December episode of Dynamite will be at a different time due to scheduling conflicts with the NBA.

Perhaps in future they can ask Shaq to have a word.
