This week’s show came from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. MSK told William Regal they want to give Lorcan and Burch a title shot, Raquel Gonzalez stood tall against Jessi Kamea, and Imperium took out Waller and Maverick. But also:
Hooray for Sarray
Mandy Rose came up short in her first match back in NXT when she faced off against Sarray. Sarray won the match by count-out after she knocked Rose through the ropes with a huge dropkick. That resulted in Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne deciding that Mandy had had enough of the match and they took her to the back as the referee counted her out. Later in the show we saw Dolin and Jayne walk out of Sarray’s locker room and Sarray was laid out on the floor.
The Czar is here!
Brand new NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov came to the ring to, in his own words, show the fans he’s still alive. He went on to say that he’s not just alive, he feels more alive than he’s ever felt before as the crowd chanted “you deserve it!” He also mentioned that he’ll show the world what it takes to be the NXT UK Champion as the Ring General has fallen. Long live the Czar!
Knight night for Gargano
With InDex in his corner, Johnny Gargano took on L.A. Knight. Towards the end of the match Knight knocked Gargano off the apron and into the open arms of Dexter Lumis. Gargano jumped out of the embrace and then Lumis again came to his aid as he pushed Johnny out of the way of an incoming Knight. Back in the ring and Indi Hartwell wanted Gargano and Lumis to high-five but the distraction gave Knight an opening to hit the BFT to get the pin and win, which left InDex looking VERY concerned.
Jiro steps up to the challenge
The Diamond Mine issued an open challenge earlier in the week and Ikemen Jiro answered. He faced off against Roderick Strong one-on-one but probably wished he hadn’t as Strong came determined to win. Two innovative backbreakers finished off Jiro and Strong got the win, sending a huge message to Kushida that he’ll be coming for the Cruiserweight Title.
Ciampa silences Holland
Ridge Holland and Tommaso Ciampa faced off in the main event, and it was as intense as expected. Distractions from Pete Dunne and attempted interference from Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch didn’t get the desired effect as Ciampa finished off Holland with Willow’s Bell. Dunne attacked Ciampa after the match but NXT Tag Team Champions MSK ran in and made the save as NXT went off the air.
