NXT 2.0 was once again held at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. On the show we saw Raquel Gonzalez come face to face with Toxic Attraction (with Shirai and Stark offering back-up to the NXT Women’s Champ), L.A. Knight getting some help against Odyssey Jones, and Cora Jade had a successful in-ring debut against Franky Monet. All that, plus all of this:
Rose rose against Moon
Mandy Rose was accompanied to the ring with her Toxic Attraction faction members, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, as she got set to face off against Ember Moon. As the match got under way it didn’t take long for Toxic Attraction to get involved, as they pulled Rose to safety. Ember got a bit of payback however, when she launched herself from the ring and hit Jayne with a Suicide Dive. Back in the ring and Mandy managed to avoid an Eclipse from Moon and almost took her head off with a big boot to the Shenom’s head. Rose got the pin and Toxic Attraction stood tall in the ring.
Bron Breakker stepped up
Tommaso Ciampa announced that Halloween Havoc would be returning on October 26th and he wanted an opponent. He went on to ask who had the balls big enough to try and take his title and the music of Bron Breakker interrupted him. Breakker told Tommaso that the match he wanted, and the match the fans want to see, is Breakker vs. Ciampa for the NXT Title at Halloween Havoc. Ciampa replied and told the challenger that he accepted and Bron has three weeks to get ready.
Grimes couldn’t get it Dunne
Earlier in the night Cameron Grimes was backstage, jealous of the fact that there was a lot of love going round NXT but none for him. He was interrupted by Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland, who told him there’s not a woman alive that would touch him, and threatened to teach him a lesson in the ring and the match was made. Holland looked on from ringside as Dunne and Grimes faced off and tried to get involved towards the end of the match but Kyle O’Reilly appeared from nowhere and attacked Ridge. Back in the ring, Dunne blocked a Cave In attempt from Grimes and hit the Bitter End on Cameron then got the pin. After the match O’Reilly attempted to attack Dunne and Holland but was overcome by the duo and left on the floor.
Hartwell defeated Ying
Earlier in the show Indi Harwell was giving Persia Pirotta WAY too much information about her honeymoon with Dexter Lumis. As they talked they accidentally walked in on Boa and Mei Ying of Tian Sha, which resulted in Sha demanding a match with Mrs. Lumis. Ying was in control for the whole of the match and it was only because Persia put herself in harm’s way that Indi got some offence in. As Mei went for a boot on the outside Pirotta stepped in the way and took the kick instead. Hartwell took the distraction advantage and rolled Ying in the ring then hit a Springboard Elbow Drop to get the pin.
MSK retained, Imperium reigned
The main event of this week’s show was a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Elimination match for the NXT Tag Team Titles. Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs, Grizzled Young Veterans, and Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams all wanted to take the titles from MSK. Hayes and Williams were eliminated first thanks to MSK, followed after by the Veterans to leave MSK vs. Jensen and Briggs. MSK would ultimately win the match after Wes Lee got the pin on Jensen, but the after match celebrations didn’t last as Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner of Imperium attacked the Champions until Briggs and Jensen returned to the ring and made the save. Imperium stood tall on the ramp as NXT went off the air.
